Our large staff of therapists allows us to address a broad range of issues, with different treatment options, for those seeking treatment. Our services include:
One on one therapy with a mental health counselor, clinical social worker or a marriage and family therapist. It begins with an in-depth assessment of the identified problem. The frequency and duration of these services are a collaborative effort between the client and their therapist.
Family members engage in therapy together with a mental health counselor, clinical social worker or a marriage and family therapist. The frequency and duration of these services are a collaborative effort between the client and therapist. Sometimes, several different therapists will work with a family to provide services as needed for each individual family member and the family as a whole.
Couples therapy aims to improve romantic relationships and resolve interpersonal conflicts. We are able to accommodate having different therapists provide individual therapy and couples therapy as appropriate.
Group therapy is a form of psychotherapy in which a therapist treats a small number of clients together as a group. This is a very effective treatment option for many people. Bay Area Behavioral Services routinely provides group therapy services for children and adolescents, as well as a parenting support group. We also have a support group for LGBTQ+ young adults, as well as a support group for young adults transitioning to “adulting”. Groups are developed as need and requests arise.
Telehealth (also referred to as Telemedicine) is the practice of caring for patients remotely when the provider and patient are not physically present with each other by using your phone or computer to video conference. We use a secure and confidential platform for telehealth services that uses state of the art security and encrypted protocols to ensure confidentiality is maintained and HIPAA requirements are met. Your therapist will thoroughly review the how-to’s with you so that you are comfortable before your first session and see if this is right for you. This platform is known for ease of use.
Psychiatric evaluation and/or medication management with a licensed psychiatrist is available for clients actively engaged with a Bay Area Behavioral Services therapist.
